TV Men and Women win Pickaway County Championships

The Teays Valley Men's and Women's Track and Field teams won the Pickaway County Championships on Tuesday at Circleville High School. The Vikings Men's team won the meet with 90 points, edging out Logan Elm who had 86 points. The Viking Women's team won the meet with 104.5 points to defeat Logan Elm, who came in second with 80.5 points. The men of Teays Valley were led by the efforts of the 4x100 relay of Carsen Cordes, Noah Nabarrette, De'Vaughn Railey, and Dylan Stiffler, who won with a time of 44.44 seconds. The 4 x 800 of Colin Carvel, Kellan Durbin, Brayden Fraley, and Austin Rhodes won in a time of 9:17.20. The team also benefitted from two individual winners-De'Vaughn Railey won the 100 meters in a time of 11.24, while Wade Dains won the 110 hurdles in a time of 18.34. For the women, the team of Paige Baker, Maria McAndrew, Kenzie Nou, and Skylar Vandegrift won both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays in 52.54 and 1:56.70, respectively. Paige would also win the 200 in a time of 27.34, while Vandegrift would contribute to a 4x400 victory with Harper Banks, Lily Gaal, and Abby Henderson (4:30.8). The Vikings also got a 400 victory from Henderson (1:01.24), and achieved three others from Raelynn McGrath-100 hurdles (16.74), 300 hurdles (48.54), and long jump (16'11.75") The Vikings return to action Friday at the Granville Invitational.
