TV Men and Women Win Grove City Tri-Meet

The Teays Valley Track and Field team won both sides of the Grove City Tri Meet on Tuesday, April 21st. The Men's team won with 74.5 points, while the Women's team finished with 96.5 points. Franklin Heights took 2nd place on both sides, scoring 43 and 48 points, respectively. The Viking Men were led by four victors, as the team won the individual 100 m., 200 m. 400 m. and 800 m. races. Carsen Cordes (11.72), De'Vaughn Railey (23.82), Caiden Blackburn (52.35), and Logan Moore (2:10.31) paced the Vikings to victory. The Viking Women won nearly every event in the competition. Paige Baker won the 100 (13.13) and 200 (27.01), while Abby Henderson won the 400 (1:00.73). Raelynn McGrath won the 100 hurdles (16.43), while Lily Gaal won the 300 hurdles (51.03). Cami Myers won discus (105'3"), Lila Merritt won high jump (4'8"), Eva Gaal won pole vault (8'6"), and Audrey Henson won long jump (14'5"). The Vikings also won three relays: the 4 x 100 of Katelyn Blaney, Lilli Fritz, Genica Holland, and Sydney McMahon (55.64); the 4 x 400 of Lily Gaal, Abby Henderson, Kylee McClure, and Skylar Vandegrift (4:27.26); and the 4 x 800 of Iris Ardrey, Iris Lanas Garcia, Miley Maxwell, and Bethany Wickline (11:32.58). The Vikings return to action on Thursday with two meets. Pole Vaulters, Throwers, and Distance Runners head to Bloom Carroll, while sprinters and hurdlers head to Groveport Madison. Both meets start at 4:30.
