Women Win, Men Take 2nd on Senior Day

The Teays Valley Women won at Senior Day on Tuesday, April 28th at Teays Valley High School, while the men's team took 2nd place in a hard fought contest with Logan Elm High School. The women won 97.5-64.5, while the men lost by one point-78 to 77. The Viking Men took home three individual wins in running events-Dylan Stiffler in the 100 (11.52), Wade Dains in the 110 hurdles (18.44), and Isaiah Dalton in the 300 hurdles (45.37). The Vikings also took three field victories-with De'Vaughn Railey becoming the first 20-foot long jumper in the past six years (20'2.5"), Peter Graham winning the discus (129'7"), and Robert Crouse winning the shotput (43'8.5"). The team also had three winning relays-the 4 x 100 (Carsen Cordes, Noah Nabarrette, De'Vaughn Railey, and Dylan Stiffler), the 4 x 200 (Ryder Baldwin, Joseph Blaney, Andrew Mershon, and Wyatt Roese-1:44.52), and the 4 x 800 (CJ Jett, Josh Langley, Austin Rhodes, and Colt Whitt-10:02.53). The women were led by a double winner in the hurdles in Lily Gaal (100-17.49 and 300-50.89), and three additional running winners-Paige Baker in the 100 (13.17), Avery Hannigan (27.61), and Abby Henderson in the 400 (1:02.16). They also had three field winners-Kennedy Tietz in the shotput (32'3.5"), Lila Merritt in the high jump (4'8"), and Audrey Henson in the long jump (14'8.5"). The Vikings also had four relay winners-the 4 x 100 (Paige Baker, Lilly Fritz, Maria McAndrew, and Kenzie Nou-52.84), 4 x 200 (Paige Baker, Harper Banks, Maria McAndrew, and Skylar Vandegrift-1:51.35) 4 x 400(Harper Banks, Lily Gaal, Abby Henderson, Skylar Vandegrift-4:19.98), and 4 x 800 (Iris Ardrey, Riley Herbert, Miley Maxwell, and Bethany Wickline-11:12.14) The Vikings return to action on Friday with the Hilliard Darby Invitational.
