Men and Women Compete at Hilliard Darby Invitational

The Teays Valley Track and Field teams ran at the Hilliard Darby Invitational on Friday, May 1st. The Women's team took 4th place with 83 points, while the Men's team took 7th place with 24 points. Big Walnut won the Invitational with 150 points for the men, and 149 points for the women. The men were paced by two high individual placers, with Peter Graham taking 3rd in the discus with a throw of 135'6", while De'Vaughn Railey took 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 19'7". Railey also contributed to a 4th place in the 4x100 with Noah Nabarrette, Dylan Stiffler, and Austin Turner in a time of 44.68. Caiden Blackburn also had an individual 4th place, with a long jump of 18'10.5". For the women, Reese Galinger won the 1600 and set a new Teays Valley record in the process. She ran a 4:59.54, becoming the 1st Teays Valley woman to break the 5 minute barrier event in the 1600. Reese also added an 800 time of 2:19.24 in a separate runner-up finish. Kennedy Tietz and Raelynn McGrath both took home 2nd place in the discus and 300 hurdles, respectively (97'5" and 47.69). The 4 x 800 of Kate Charter, Addy Keplar, Khloe Maxwell, and Bethany Wickline also took home a 2nd place finish (10:06.85) The Vikings return to action with a meet on Wednesday at Pickerington North. They will take on both the Panthers and Canal Winchester.
