The Vikings traveled to Pickerington North for the second time this season, this time to be a part of the Division One Super Regional Central Meet. The guys were aware of this tremendous opportunity to truly come “full-circle” from the first meet of the regular season to return back for the regional meet today. They raced to the absolute best of their ability, despite the adversity that they may have encountered throughout the last two weeks. We had sicknesses, injuries, setbacks, and everything in between. However, through it all, the guys had their brotherhood and had one another to lean on. They were able to be goofy and laugh, and were able to focus when needed. Finishing in the top seven today was Reed Henderson (16:16.7), Kellan Durbin (18:01.5), Austin Rhoads (18:05.8), Caiden Blackburn (18:25.2), Clark Thompson (19:00.8), Ian Duncan (19:37.5), and Carson Leonard (19:50.4). The varsity boys finished 26th out of 31. Reed Henderson finished 31st overall, allowing him to punch a ticket to the OHSAA Division One State Championship meet. Reed is the first Teays Valley High School boy to qualify to the state meet since 2009. Reed Henderson will continue his monumental season as he competes in the Ohio Cross Country State Championship on Saturday, October 31st at 10:40 PM at The Fortress Obetz.
