Teays Valley Varsity Boys Cross Country split into two competitive races today at the Eisenhart Invitational hosted by Thomas Worthington, tackling the challenging course in both the Grades 11/12 and Grades 9/10 divisions. Grades 11/12 Race (197 Finishers) In a stacked field featuring top Central Ohio talent, the upperclassmen battled through the hot conditions. Nolan Lupfer paced the Vikings with a strong 39th place finish in 18:57, a season highlight effort that edged him under 19 minutes for the first time this fall. Junior Charles Jett, a two sport athlete, placed in 64th at 19:32. Seniors Luke Little (139th, 22:04) and Torin Scarpill (151st, 22:41) rounded out the scoring, both showing heart in the final mile to close the race strong. Grades 9/10 Race (338 Finishers) The underclassmen faced an even deeper field in this massive race, but our freshmen and sophomores rose to the occasion with aggressive starts and smart racing. Freshman Colton Whitt led the charge in 48th place with a sharp 19:09, demonstrating the speed that's made him a standout early in his varsity career. Sophomores Kellan Durbin (87th, 19:53) and Ian Duncan (137th, 20:33) held strong mid-pack and didn’t let the deep field of runners get to them. Sophomores Levi Little (250th, 22:55) and Navin Warner (272nd, 23:53) capped the Viking effort today. The Vikings will travel to Pickerington Central next Saturday for the OCC League Meet.
