Our Mission

We develop our student-athletes through success in academics and competition. We want to foster a culture of excellence so students can use the skills learned and apply them towards citizenship in a democratic society.

Our Goal

The goal of the Teays Valley Athletic Department is to teach the values established by the Teays Valley Athletic Department while molding students into college and career-ready individuals through participation in interscholastic athletics.

Our Values

Integrity – We will act with integrity, honesty, and accountability. We will do this through positive relationships.

Respect – We hold this in the highest regard. We will act with respect in all aspects of our lives. Athletes must respect themselves and others through the values of hard work and commitment.

Aim – Our society is very competitive. We do not always win, but we succeed when we continually strive to do so. You can learn to accept defeat only by striving to win with earnest dedication. Athletes will develop a desire to excel.

Strive – We will strive for excellence. We will educate each student-athlete with high academic standards, a great character education program and foster a growth mindset. Teaching these to our students is essential in preparing them for their future.

Develop-An An appreciation of the value of physical fitness and conditioning starts at a young age. The growth and development of the student using exercise and good health habits through athletic competition create a foundation for the student as an adult.

Lead– We will develop elite leaders through selfless service. We will have high expectations for all student-athletes, coaches, and staff to become leaders and develop others into leaders. We will strive to be innovators and leaders of our school, our league, our city, and our state.

Teamwork – The well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff are held in the highest regard in our decision-making. We will utilize teamwork to educate our programs about our standards for responsibility, commitment, work ethic, relationships, and tradition.
