The Teays Valley Vikings came away with a much needed 62 – 57 overtime victory against MSL leading Hamilton Township. The Vikings and Rangers use sharp shooting to combine for 46 first quarter points. The second period saw both teams shooting cool as the Rangers held a slim 36 – 29 lead at the break. The Vikings called time out with 5:27 left in the third period and trailing by 13. Coming out of the time out the Vikings scored 13 of the next 17 points to close the gap. Baskets from Seniors Davis Gothard, Ryan Wolfe and Max Young closed the to four points after three periods. The fourth quarter saw the Vikings narrow the lead aided from eight fourth quarter points from Senior Tanner Kendig. The biggest bucket coming with just seconds left in the game to tie the score at 55. In overtime Young scored the first basket to give the Vikings a lead. The Rangers came down and hit a basket to tie the score. Senior Brodie Booth scored with a little over three minutes left in the extra period to put the Vikings up for good.
